Wonderful Recipe!

Our chocolate tart is on the table in front of us...minutes before being devoured!

Below is a recipe to one of the easiest desserts I have ever made! I think that boiling an egg is difficult and time-consuming, so for me to say a recipe is easy...please, believe me! Hutson and I took a class at the Viking Cooking School back in June, and this is the dessert we made. I urge you to make it once...if you don't ever make it again because you find it too complicated then I will reimburse your money to cover the ingredients. (Well, not really. I'm just trying to make a point that this is super simple! :) Bon appetit! (I just saw Julie & Julia, and this phrase is running over and over in my mind.)

Warm Chocolate Tarts

8 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips (or finely chopped if you buy a block of chocolate)
3/4 C heavy cream
1/4 C whole milk
1 large egg, lightly beaten
12 Mini-Graham Cracker Pie Crusts

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Place the chopped chocolate in a medium mixing bowl and set aside.
2. Combine the heavy cream and milk in a medium sauce pan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
3. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate. Allow to stand for 30 seconds, then whisk until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Set aside to cool for 10 minutes.
4. Whisk the egg into the chocolate mixture. Place the tart crusts on a baking sheet. Pour the filling into the crusts, dividing it evenly between them.
5. Bake the tarts just until the edges of the filing are set; the centers will still be a little soft, about 15-18 minutes. Cool the tarts for 15-20 minutes.
6. Top with whip cream.

A Visit from Poppy and MeMe

Poppy and MeMe came for a visit this weekend, and Ginger was so glad to see them. They brought gifts, as usual. :) (We like the gifts!!) Ginger got two more Little Golden Books (Spongebob and Veggie Tales) and a precious Christmas dress. I can't wait to put Ginger in it!

MeMe and Ginger...I believe Ginger was saying, "I looooove you, MeMe!"

When Daddy's Away...

"Be Aggressive; B-E Aggressive"
Our little cheerleader

Ginger has this look of astonishment on her face because I just told her that Daddy likes the stinky bulldogs. Boo!!!

The Girls Will Play!!!

Ginger says, "Go Rebs!!!"

(Hutson is going to kill me when he sees this :) )

She was sitting up at first, but since finding her toes it has now transformed into sitting forward.

Exciting news...

Ginger is sitting up!! I don't have any good pictures yet because when she sits up I get so excited that she gets tickled at me and topples over before I can get my camera. Hopefully I will have pictures to post soon!

I Love a Good Bargain!

She sits up in her new toy like a big girl!

I have a feeling one day she may actually find a way to put it in her mouth.

My favorite dress of the four I found.

I love this one, too! It still has the tags on it!

I absolutely l-o-v-e a good bargain! Recently, I have run upon two great steals. In Indianola there is a thrift shop called 82 Outlet. They have everything from baby items to household items. I went with mama a week ago, and we found a very cute walker for only $30. Being the good Bella that she is, she got it for Ginger. Ginger has a blast in it. She's obsessed with the purple flower and pink butterfly on the ends and is constantly trying to pull them toward her so she can put them in her mouth. (Thanks, Papa and Bella!) I also found a great deal on clothes for Ginger at a big consignment sale in Columbus called Cooper's Closet. To my understanding, they come to Columbus once a year and sale everything you could imagine needing for a baby and toddler. I got four dresses for Ginger for only $30!! Can you tell I'm excited about it? :) I wonder if Hutson would let me stay home with Ginger until she goes to school if I promise to continue finding all these great bargains?

Poor, Innocent Evie

Poor thing never stood a chance.

She screamed the entire time she was attacking Evie.

Apparently, they had reconciled their differences by the next morning.

There is a sweet, innocent stuffed lamb at my parents' house named Evie that Mama bought for Ginger to play with. I think she's adorable; Mama thinks she's precious, but she has apparently gotten on Ginger's bad side (as you can tell from the pictures). Thursday night Ginger threw a temper tantrum to rival all temper tantrums ever thrown, and poor Evie got the brunt of it. Evie survived , but I don't think we will leave her in Ginger's crib overnight!
